The Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts heavily relies on the work and enthusiasm of hundreds of volunteers each year. We invite you to be part of the fun! Volunteer opportunities exist year-round at special events including parades, Light City, Artscape and the Baltimore Book Festival, as well as School 33 Art Center, Top of the World Observation Level and in the BOPA offices.
Each volunteer activity provides its own unique rewards. All volunteers will gain the satisfaction that they are actively promoting arts and culture in the city of Baltimore. Also, we thank our volunteers with benefits such as event t-shirts, refreshments and free parking when available. We hope to see you soon!
Front Desk Coverage at BOPA Headquarters
Assignments can range in time from one to four hours. Desk coverage includes answering and directing phone calls and greeting and assisting visitors while the receptionist is at lunch (1 hour, generally from 1:00 PM to 2:00PM) or on vacation (3.5 to 4 hour shifts).
Volunteers who would like to be considered for these assignments will be required to come in for office orientation.
Please note, volunteer opportunities are open to registered BOPA volunteers. If you would like to apply to be a BOPA volunteer, please click here.
All volunteers must be at least 16 years of age and be willing to attend pre-event orientation session(s) specific to the volunteer activity and/or event. Most importantly, volunteers should be excited to work with the public, help support the arts, and be part of a team.
