SUSTAINABLE STYLE: A WEARABLE ART EXPERIENCE

Sustainable Style: A Wearable Art Experience on Thursday, October 31, is the finale to the 2024 Pop-up Fashion Market series at Baltimore Museum of Industry. It is part fashion show, part film screening, and part community conversation.

BOPA has commissioned three Sustainable Designers to showcase their collections inspired by fantasy, cosplay, and wearable art. The evening will begin with a viewing of a short film produced by BOPA that will take the audience on a journey with the selected designers as they prepare for the show. The designers will also discuss the importance of sustainability pertaining to fashion. To RSVP and select which screening you will attend (or just the fashion show), click the link below.

Project Artscape 2024

Project Artscape: August 2nd–4th

The wildly successful Project Artscape returned to Artscape for the 40th edition of the festival. Twelve Baltimore-based designers were selected to participate in Project Artscape Fashion Weekend on Friday–Sunday, August 2–4, at The Garage, 6 E. Lafayette Ave. The weekend kicked off Friday evening with a reception and panel discussion from 5:00–9:00 p.m. There were fashion shows for six of the designers on Saturday, and six designers presented on Sunday.

Fusing Jazz & Fashion

Project Artscape and the Baltimore Jazz Alliance are teaming up to bring the lively energy of live jazz bands to the Project Artscape Experience. Designers collaborated with a live band to create the perfect soundtracks for their shows.

Lounge areas surrounding the runway created a jazz club-like atmosphere. The space also showcased the history of Baltimore’s connection to iconic jazz figures and venues, delving into the fashion and style of the Jazz Era. This partnership aims to unite music and fashion enthusiasts, fostering future collaborations. It will be an immersive experience for designers, musicians, and the audience alike.

SUSTAINABLE FASHION WEEK US

Sustainable Fashion Week (SFW) is an event that showcases collections from emerging sustainable designers, established sustainable designers, and vintage collectors. Unlike your typical Fashion Week, this platform includes a virtual sustainable product lounge, sustainable fashion speakers, and space for individuals from all backgrounds to share their vision of a sustainable fashion future.

This year’s Sustainable Fashion Week Fall show was September 7th–8th in the Ruth Bader Ginsburg Hall at Rutgers University’s Business School in Newark, New Jersey. It showcased 10 sustainable fashion designers and offered a free workshop, panel, and screening.
