The Maryland Region Scholastic Art and Writing Awards is the nation's longest-running and most prestigious creative teen recognition program for students in grades 7-12. BOPA is proud to serve as the Maryland regional affiliate for this competition and support Maryland's next generation of creatives. Teens, ages 13 and up can apply in 28 categories of art and writing.

The Janet & Walter Sondheim Art Prize awards $30,000 to a visual artist or visual artist collaborators living and working in the Baltimore region. Five finalists will be selected for the final review for the prize and their work exhibited in the Walters Art Museum.

This grant aims to support vibrant and accessible arts events in Baltimore City’s A&E Districts. We’re looking for exciting and engaging performances that are free and open to the public. We’ll be granting one event in each of the four A&E districts.

The Municipal Art Society of Baltimore City (MASB) Artist Travel Prize will award $7,000 to a visual artist or visual artist collaborators, living or working in Baltimore City. The $7,000 prize is intended to function as funding for travel essential to an artist’s studio practice that an artist may not otherwise be able to afford. Successful proposals will be selected from submissions that clearly articulate the artist’s reason for travel to the chosen destination and how it relates to their work.
