Throughout the year, the Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts (BOPA) seeks visual, literary and performing artists to participate in large-scale festivals and special events. Now, artists and cultural organizations can visit one place to learn about current calls for artists, upcoming projects and arts-related events.

CALL FOR MURALIST!!!

The Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts and Wexford Science + Technology are issuing a call for artists for an indoor mural for 4MLK at 4 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd. 4MLK is a gateway between the BioPark, University of Maryland, Baltimore, and Medical Center offering Class A laboratory, office, flex lab, and convening spaces, and is set to open in fall of 2024.
For this Request for Qualifications, experienced muralists, public artists, and 2D artists may apply with examples of their work.
Two artists will be invited to submit a proposal for the site and paid a $500 stipend. The selected artist will then work directly with representatives from Wexford Science + Technology to make final design decisions and install the mural.
The total budget for this 570-square-foot mural is $19,950. Expected completion date of the mural would be October 2024.

CALL FOR ARTISTS!!

B24 is Artscape’s new signature in-door exhibition featuring the work of the best artists based in Baltimore City and the surrounding region. B23 featured the work of 25 Baltimore-based and regional artists.  B23 was juried by Rhea Combs of Black Artist Research Space (BARS), Liz Faust, Independent Curator, and Tod Roulette of Roulette Fine Art (New York).

B24 will be juried by Sheena M. Morrison (Independent Curator), Carol Rhodes Dyson (Howard University), and Kilolo Luckett (ALMA | LEWIS).

Artists can be at any stage of their career post-university and can work in any discipline of art including painting, drawing, video, film, glass, textile, photography, light, sound, sculpture, and performance. Artists will be able to submit 5-7 works for consideration.
